Making a Dandelion in Maya (Part 7)

Yesterday night I managed to get a render (sun and sky) that took 2mins plus per frame! It really didn’t impress me, although I believe that is how the dandelion would actually look like if you capture all it’s detail.

I think instead of trying to tweak the model or settings all over again, it might be better to approach the image by color grading it to how you want it to feel, just like painting.

This is a very quick photoshop work. Just some curve adjustments and adding the circles. I believe I would composite the animated version in this fashion and putting in a lot more effort!
